Life on the Earth has began when it gained an ability of metabolism. Organisms cannot maintain their metabolism without acquiring energy sources. Life organisms usually gain energy sources through food. No food, no metabolism, no life!
Then, why do we care about climatic change in regard to our diet?
While the food is so important to keep us alive, climatic change has huge impacts on food that we consume. We, humans, are highly dependent on carbohydrates for energy and we gain the carbohydrates mostly from the grains. This explains that how the ancient world civilizations were established through development of agriculture. Even today, grains still takes biggest part of our food source and are recommended as the primary food group followed by vegetables.
While agriculture is the biggest invention that humans have developed from gifts from the nature, it can be affected by change in the nature to a greatest extent. While importance of agriculture on us cannot be overstated, the agricultural damages caused by dramatic climate change from anthropogenic force do not seem to be discontinued. Through this blog I would like to alert the danger of current trend of climate change related to agriculture that might result in our hideous future including droughts, food crisis and famine. This blog will focus on climate change impact on the agriculture. Starting with the plants' physiology and responses upon climate change, we will see the current state of agricultural plants with global warming and its impact on us, then we will end with the future impact of climate change on our food security with the historical evidence about relationships between civilization extinction and climate change. Also, we will have interesting thoughts about "would vegetarian diet really help to reduce global warming effect?".

Intro is a little scattered. "this blog will mainly focus on climate change impact on the agriculture" , should be more toward the beginning of the intro to establish the purpose of the blog. Also a statement or two about the importance of the food pyramid to your blog would be helpful.
ReplyDeleteAwesome topic idea! I like your question at the end "would vegetarian diet really help to reduce global warming effect?".
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting topic. You might want use a more recent image of the food pyramid since it has changed in composition in the last couple of years. In your third sentence I would emphasize food less abruptly by saying:
ReplyDelete"Organisms cannot maintain their metabolism without acquiring energy sources, specifically FOOD!"
I am a little confused on what your main purpose is with writing this blog. I would explicitly state what you are going to talk about in your blog.
ReplyDeleteYour topic is really interesting and that draws in your reader on its own. But there is a disconnect between the title of each page that addresses what the subject of each page is and what the content of the page is saying. This is especially true on the predictions page where the title says predictions but the first thing you read is about history. Perhaps reorganizing the page would help clear up any confusion on that page. Another suggestion I would make is to change the font on your figure because it is a bit difficult to read. Otherwise, your blog has great potential and your topic is incredibly intriguing.
